Surgical Services

Our vets perform all surgeries in our state-of-the-art facility with constant monitoring of vitals.

Our veterinarians provide many surgical services at our clinic, ranging from routine to advanced procedures. To ensure your dog or cat receives the best possible outcome, we occasionally refer them to specialists (board-certified veterinary surgeons) to perform complex operations when advanced equipment or training will be beneficial.

What safety protocol do you have for surgeries?

Every surgery we perform includes a strict safety protocol to ensure each dog or cat has a successful procedure. Safety is extremely important to us both before and during the procedure. Before your dog or cat’s scheduled procedure, we typically perform a physical exam and diagnostic testing like bloodwork or X-rays to assess your dog or cat’s overall health. For surgeries that require anesthetics, we perform pre-anesthetic testing to ensure their bodies will respond well to the medication. For certain procedures, we also schedule follow-up post-operative appointments to support your dog or cat’s recovery process.

What types of surgeries do you perform at your clinic?

We perform a range of soft tissue procedures, which are surgeries that are not associated with bone. These surgeries can provide many benefits to dogs or cats. Probably the most common soft tissue surgery we perform is the removal of masses or lumps. Most of these masses, once removed and tested, are found to be benign (non-harmful). However, occasionally they are more serious. Early removal and accurate lump diagnosis are necessary to improve the outcome in your dog or cat if the mass is cancerous. If your dog suffers from frequent ear infections, surgical intervention can reduce their occurrence by improving airflow into the ear canal.

Can surgery help my dog or cat’s eye issues?

Surgery can also help resolve several problems related to the eyes. Tearing in your dog or cat’s eyes can mean an infection is present or could be a sign that the cornea (outer layer of the eye) has been damaged. Surgery could allow the cornea to heal faster with less scarring, improving your dog or cat’s vision. In some dogs or cats, the eyelashes could damage the cornea. Surgical intervention improves comfort, reduces the chances of corneal scarring, and enhances their vision in the long term.
