Dr. Ariana Spina has been a part of the Greenboro team since 2018. Ariana was born and raised in the countryside of Thunder Bay, Ontario. She spent her summers at her family cottage, teaching the men in her family how to fish. In the winters, Ariana played hockey and enjoyed snowshoeing in her back yard.
Ariana graduated with first class standing from Lakehead University in 2014, where she received a Bachelor of Science Biology degree. During her undergraduate degree she worked at her local humane society as an animal care attendant. She also worked at a local mixed-animal practice, where she found her love for small animal medicine; this was where she decided that large animal medicine, especially in the middle of harsh northern Ontario winters, was not for her. Ariana then continued her education at the Ontario Veterinary College, where she received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree and graduated with honours in 2018.
Ariana has many passions in veterinary medicine, but has a keen interest in preventative medicine, nutrition, and dentistry. She believes in working as a team with her clients to ensure the best possible care for their pets. Ariana strives to make every experience at the vet the most positive it can be, and has earned the nickname “Dr. Cheez” as she uses Cheez Whiz to make routine appointments more enjoyable for her patients.
Outside of veterinary medicine, Ariana enjoys walking and hiking with her Jack Russell Terrier, Pippa. She is also an avid reader and enjoys travel, playing hockey, cooking new pinterest recipes, and going to her family cottage in the summer months.
